Scott County weathers storms
UPDATED 3:40 P.M. FRIDAY, MAY 28 — Two funnel clouds sightings near Mallard Point were confirmed Thursday night, but Scott County escaped with minor damage. A tornado warning for Scott County was issued at 9:34 p.m. and lifted at 10:15.
The Georgetown-Scott County Emergency Management Agency confirmed two funnel cloud sightings near Mallard Point, but neither of them touched down, director Jack Donovan said. Another funnel cloud was spotted near CVS Pharmacy in Georgetown, he said, but that one was not confirmed.
Reports of a funnel cloud near Switzer Avenue in Stamping Ground were broadcast over the emergency scanner Thursday night.
